Responsibilities
Surgery Center of Reno is seeking a PreOp/PACU Manager to join the team!
- The PACU Manager directs and supervises the daily operation of the PACU and is responsible for supervising and delivering quality patient care in the PACU.
- Assists in managing, supervising and assisting the PACU nursing staff, working manager as needed.
- Collaborates and shares clear communication between the staff, PAT, OR, and surgeons/LIPs.
Required Skills:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates leadership skills and empowerment by managing a staff of nurses and ancillary staff.
- Directs the daily activities of the unit and facilitates patient flow. Provides direct patient care.
- The Manager is the initial resource person for answering questions regarding the unit or patient care.
- The effective Manager is flexible and able to prioritize and adapt during emergencies.
- Facilitates staffing and daily assignments.
- Acts as the primary resource for the PACU for issues related to PACU and in maintaining overall awareness of the department’s activities.
- Makes patient care related judgments and implements appropriate actions within legal, professional and ethical standards.
- Solves problems and troubleshoots issues that may affect the unit or patient care and ensures timely and effective action. Ensures critical incidents are documented. Reports any issues or problems to the Clinical Director.
- Exhibits effective planning, time management, delegation of patient care activities to unit staff and resource utilization. Assesses that delegation of tasks are carried out safely, effectively and in a timely manner.
- Contributes to the development and attainment of unit goals.
- Understands, applies, supports and follows department/ASC policies, procedures and standards at all times.
- Helps ensure that inventory and stock levels are maintained at a minimum level. Identifies and implements opportunities to standardize products, reduce waste and reduce costs.
- Requests external and internal customer feedback to ensure department operations are meeting customer requirements.
- Maintains required professional license and/or certification
- Attends ASC meetings and in-service educational opportunities as required.\Participates in loss prevention by protecting company assets and maintaining a safe environment.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
