Job Summary:
The Business Office Coordinator (BOC) assists with the day-to-day operations of the business office. The BOC is also responsible for the day-to-day supervision of Registration and Medical Records. The BOC will be in charge of the business office in the absence of the business manager.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Knows, adheres to, and enforces all policies of the business office
- Assist business office manager with supervising of business office employees and processes
- Responsible for the hiring, orientation, performance reviews and training of registration and medical records staff
- Responsible for thorough working knowledge of accounts receivable system including maintenance of the managed care contracts
- Reconciles the cash receipts to the deposit log
- Informs business office manager of applicable day-to-day situations
- Supervise all medical records activities of the center in a manner consistent with the clinical needs of the center
- Follows all equipment safety guidelines and is personally responsible for knowledgeable use and care of equipment
- Assist business manager with overall strategic planning of the business office
- Assist the Business Office Manager to develop and maintain policies & procedures and systems to minimize DSO and the rate of bad debt and increase the productivity of related operations
- Perform other activities as requested by the business manager, and assume other appropriate operational responsibilities as necessary

Required Experience:
- Must be a high school graduate.
- A bachelor's degree preferred.
- Five years supervisory experience in a medical setting such as a hospital, physician's office, or surgery center preferred.
- Experience working with physicians is desirable.
- Must have knowledge of medical terminology.
- Prefer experience in accounts payable and receivable.
