Round Rock, Texas Williamson Surgery Center (11803)USPI Williamson Surgery Center is seeking a motivated Medical Assistant to join our team. We have 4 OR rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in ENT, General, Gastroenterology, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Podiatry, Spinal, Urology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.
- Turn over Operating Room
- Back-up Materials Manager with receiving, stocking, and all other necessary duties
- Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary.
- Coordinates clinical duties as assigned by RN.
- Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential.
- Counsels patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions about surgery.
- Schedules surgeries by making arrangements with the surgical center; verifying times with patients; preparing charts, pre-admission and consent forms.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
- Adheres to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
- Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

Required Skills:
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Medical Assistant or Certified Nurse Assistant or Patient Care Technician equivalent clinical training preferred.
BLS certification required
One Year experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified.
USPI complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce. If you are offered this position and must be vaccinated under any applicable law, you will be required to show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approval of a religious or medical exemption prior to your start date.
