North Atlantic Surgical Suites is an ambulatory surgical center specializing in total knee and hip replacement surgery and orthopedic spinal surgery. Conveniently located in Salem New Hampshire, the state-of-the-art facility was created by leading-edge surgeons from Boston area Hospitals to provide the best possible patient experience.  We provide first-class surgical services for local communities and recognize our employees as our number one asset.

Job Summary:

The Surgical Technician is responsible for ensuring proper care and use of surgical instruments. Anticipates the needs of the surgical team. Establishes and maintains sterile field during surgical procedures in the operating room.

May perform any of the following duties with the goal of preparing the room and the patient for the surgical procedure:

  • Setting up the instruments and equipment that is required for the procedure
  • Sterilizing equipment and taking an inventory to ensure there are enough supplies for surgery
  • Preparing the patient for surgery
  • Passing the Surgeon instruments and sterile supplies throughout the operation
  • Taking a count of all surgical sponges and sharps prior to the operation
  • Recounting surgical instruments and supplies at the end of the operation
  • Maintaining an overall sterile environment throughout the surgery
  • Stocking rooms, picking supplies for cases, assisting with departmental daily tasks.

No Weekends/No Major Holidays/No Call Required

Schedule: 10 hour shifts

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma / GED; completion of a Scrub Technician Certification Program.
  • 1-2 years of operating room experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties, including Ortho.
  • CST & BLS Certification.
