Aides are an integral part of the surgical team, providing essential nursing care to patients during surgical cases. Their role requires a high level of accuracy and professionalism in a fast-paced surgical environment. Aides are responsible for ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care during surgery. Their ability to maintain a professional approach while providing nursing care is critical in ensuring positive patient outcomes while keeping patients and their families informed. Will work directly with surgeons, medical/surgical staff and post-acute caregivers to create comprehensive patient care from pre- to post-op. USPI GAB Endoscopy Center is seeking a motivated Aide to join our team. We have 1 OR room and 1 Treatment room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Gastroenterology. We are looking for a candidate to be available Monday-Friday, schedule subject to changed based on surgical schedule and flow of day. Candidate needs to be available for some early mornings and later evenings.

Job Summary: Under the supervision of a nurse provides safe and professional care for patients in recovery. 

Responsibilities:
• Complies with all company policies and procedures.
• Adheres to all HIPPA rules/regulations.
• Monitor patient vital signs, breathing, alertness, awareness following the procedure and identifies any changes in status, reporting to a nurse on those changes to insure patient comfort and safety.
• Assist nurse in admitting/discharging patient; (assistance walking to the bathroom and getting redressed).
• Notifies family when the physician is ready to discuss finding of the procedure.
• Communicates with all staff, patients, and families with excellent written and verbal skills.
• Ensure patient understands post-op instructions and receives nurse’s direction on any uncertainties  
• Performs necessary cleaning after each patient.
• Conducts post-op phone call and patient satisfaction surveys and documents patient contact in patient chart.
• Stores, handles and transport oxygen cylinders.
• Collaborates with the Infection Control Committee in preventing and identifying potential for infections.
• Supports and demonstrates continuous improvement of quality and service excellence.
• Maintain an appropriate inventory of break room supplies notify the Administrative Assistant if in need of additional supplies.
• May perform other tasks as assigned.

Required Skills:

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Basic CPR Certified; Medical Assistant or Certified Nurses Aid preferred 
  • Previous work experience in the endoscopy center environment preferred. 

USPI complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce.  If you are offered this position and must be vaccinated under any applicable law, you will be required to show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approval of a religious or medical exemption prior to your start date.  If you receive an exemption from the vaccination requirement, you will be required to submit to regular testing in accordance with the law.
