Scrub Tech with Materials Manager background-Full Time

The Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures.  Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities. The Materials Management Coordinator is responsible for the procurement for all supplies in the ambulatory surgery center. The responsibility of the position includes ordering and receiving of supplies, stocking supplies and assisting Accounts Payable with invoice packets. We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic person. This person must be active as 90% of this position is physical activity.

Materials Manager:

Responsible for the process, which includes inventory control: ordering all medical supplies, maintaining an appropriate inventory of all medical supplies, receiving and stocking of all medical supplies to their assigned area.  Provides support to the surgical team, and provides patient care within the prevailing state standards of practice and according to the policies of the facility.  Communicates appropriate information to other team members.  May have additional responsibilities designated by the manager, which may include, but are not limited to, providing patient care in other peri-operative departments, serving on committees, or participating in quality improvement projects.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED; completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous experience in Hospital Supply Chain required.   
  • Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferred
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
  • Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation

Hourly Wage Range: $38 to $47 per hour.  Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.
