Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our dynamic team at our Urology Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) located in Phoenix – Perimeter. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment to ensure the highest standards of infection prevention and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect, clean, disinfect, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and equipment according to industry standards and facility protocols.

• Perform routine quality assurance tests on sterilizers and maintain accurate documentation.

• Inspect instruments and equipment for functionality and cleanliness before and after sterilization.

• Assemble instrument trays accurately based on procedure-specific guidelines.

• Operate sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and low-temperature sterilizers.

• Maintain proper inventory levels of sterile supplies and ensure timely restocking.

• Adhere to all regulatory guidelines (AAMI, AORN, OSHA, CDC, and state/local requirements).

• Collaborate with the surgical team to support case flow and turnaround times.

• Participate in ongoing education and training to remain current in sterile processing best practices.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.

• 1+ year of experience in sterile processing, preferably in an ASC or hospital setting.

• Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, particularly in urology procedures, is a plus.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with excellent communication skills.

• Familiarity with infection control standards and sterile technique.
