FACILITY OVERVIEW:

Baylor Surgical Hospital at Sherman is a multi-specialty 12 bed surgical hospital in Sherman, TX. Serving the Grayson County community, Baylor Sherman performs approximately 11,000 surgical cases per year between the 8 Operating Rooms, 3 Procedure Rooms, and 2 Cardiac Catheterization Labs. In addition to performing both inpatient and outpatient surgeries amongst multiple specialties, Baylor Sherman also has a robust outpatient imaging program with multiple modalities including MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Echo, X-Ray, and Flouro that completes almost 8,000 exams per year. In 2022, Baylor Sherman also acquired the majority ownership of a Sherman Endoscopy Center in partnership with GIA where another 2,500 GI cases are performed annually.

Specialty Services

Surgical service lines include General Surgery, Vascular, Orthopedics, Spine, Podiatry, Urology, ENT, Pain Management, Plastics, Gynecology, and GI. The hospital also has 2 Catheterization Labs in which 600 coronary and peripheral intervention cases are performed annually.

Quality and Patient Experience

The hospital has been listed a 5 Star CMS facility for numerous years in addition to our regular achievement of the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence award. The facility Fall w harm rate is 0.02% and our current readmission score is 0.115, and an HAI score of 0.5%. The facility is currently accredited by DNV and maintains their MBSQAIP Bariatric Center of Excellence.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The ideal hospital CFO/COO candidate must be able to demonstrate skills and leadership in management, financial operations, hospital operations, fiscal affairs, strategic financial planning, internal controls and compliance. Our hospital CFO/COO will be responsible for:

As a Senior Management Team member of the hospital, provides overall leadership and management of the hospital. Participates in hospital-wide strategic and operational planning.

Financial Management Activities

  • Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Revenue Cycle Management
  • Expense Management
  • Financial Reporting
  • Coordination with Central Billing Office
  • Regulatory Reporting
  • Capital Planning and Management

Operational Responsibilities

  • Business Office

  • Finance & Accounts Payable
  • Health Information Management
  • Materials Management
  • Dietary

Communication Activities - Direct interaction with the Hospital Management Team and Staff, Physicians, Governing Board, Executive Committees, USPI & Baylor Health Care System, and Tenet Senior Leaders

Directly responsible for the following departments:

  • Business Office to include Registration, Scheduling, IV/Auth
  • Revenue Cycle to include Charge Capture, Collections, A/P, Denials Management
  • Health Information Department
  • Materials Management Department
  • Dietary Department

REQUIRED SKILLS:

In order to be considered for this position, a candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Recent hospital financial management experience is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hospital Revenue Cycle Experience and management of multiple departments including business office functions and materials management.
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business degree required. Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Healthcare Administration and CPA preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership, analytical and computer skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
