Job Description

As a Unit Secretary at Gastro One, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgery center. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Patient Coordination: Greet patients, manage check-ins and check-outs, and ensure patient comfort.
  • Administrative Support: Maintain patient records, schedule appointments, and handle correspondence.
  • Communication: Serve as a liaison between medical staff, patients, and their families.
  • Data Management: Enter and update patient information in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Office Management: Order supplies, manage inventory, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Front Desk Management: Answer phones, direct calls, and provide information as needed.
  • Patient Interaction: Assist patients with forms, questions, and provide support throughout their visit.
  • Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information and medical records.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with medical staff to coordinate patient care and streamline office operations.

Required Skills

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree or certification in medical administration preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a unit secretary or in a medical office setting is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, proficiency in MS Office and EHR systems.
  • Attributes: Friendly, professional, and compassionate demeanor with strong attention to detail.
  • Longevity in past roles
