Cath Lab Registered Nurse at Stuart Cardiovascular Surgery Center
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Cath Lab Registered Nurse to join our team. The Cath Lab RN plays a crucial role in assisting physicians with interventional cardiac procedures, monitoring patients, and ensuring optimal care before, during, and after procedures. This role requires strong clinical skills, critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians with cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, and other interventional cardiovascular procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs, sedation levels, and overall condition throughout procedures.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and contrast agents as ordered.
- Provide patient and family education regarding pre-procedure preparation and post-procedure care.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control, sterile technique, and patient safety protocols.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, radiology technologists, cardiovascular technologists, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, procedural details, medications, and any complications.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, including cardiac events.
- Ensure all equipment and supplies are properly maintained, available, and ready for procedures.
- Assist with patient preparation, recovery, and discharge according to established protocols.
- Promote a professional, compassionate, and patient-centered environment.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current RN license in the applicable state.
- Current BLS certification; ACLS certification required or obtainable.
- Previous Cardiac Cath Lab experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular procedures and patient management.
- Understanding and demonstrated application of aseptic and sterile techniques.
- Excellent communication, organizational, critical-thinking, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism, accountability, flexibility, creativity, and receptiveness to change.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment
