Healthcare Materials Manager at Florida Cardiovascular Partners Surgical Center

The Healthcare Materials Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement, inventory management, storage, distribution, and utilization of medical supplies, equipment, and materials throughout the surgical center. This role works closely with clinical staff, physicians, vendors, and leadership to ensure the availability of supplies while maintaining cost-effective inventory practices and supporting quality patient care.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of materials management, purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain experience in a healthcare setting required
  • Ambulatory Surgery Center, hospital, or cardiovascular services experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical and surgical supplies, equipment, and inventory management systems
  • Experience with purchasing systems, inventory software, and electronic record systems
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and vendor management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement, receipt, storage, and distribution of medical supplies and equipment
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support daily operations and surgical case requirements
  • Monitor inventory utilization and implement processes to reduce waste and control costs
  • Coordinate purchasing activities and maintain effective relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Ensure timely ordering and replenishment of supplies while avoiding stock shortages and overstock situations
  • Verify accuracy of shipments and resolve discrepancies with vendors as needed
  • Conduct routine inventory counts and assist with annual physical inventories
  • Monitor product expiration dates and ensure proper stock rotation
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership and physicians regarding product selection, standardization, and utilization
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, infection prevention standards, and organizational policies
  • Track supply expenses and assist leadership with budgeting and cost containment initiatives
  • Ensure all supplies and equipment are stored safely and organized appropriately
  • Support new product evaluations and implementation of supply chain best practices
  • Prepare reports related to inventory, purchasing, and supply utilization as requested
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of surgical center operations
