Responsibilities
Full- Time: PreOp PACU RN Manager
No Weekends, No Call, No Holidays
Bon Secours Surgery Center at Harbour View is seeking a Pre-Op/PACU Manager. We are a busy multispecialty surgery center serving Northern Suffolk and an affiliate of United Surgical Partners International (USPI). USPI’s mission is to care for each patient and their family as if they were our own. Each patient, each family, each and every time.
The Nurse Manager is responsible for all departmental functions in support of USPI’s mission, vision, and facility goals. This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors. The Nurse Manager works with Senior Management in meeting facility safety, quality, customer service, and financial goals. Oversees Pre-op/PACU/PAT; Assists as Pre-op/PACU/PAT RN as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of a professional school of Nursing – BSN preferred
- Licensure: Current license as a VA Registered Nurse
- Certifications: BLS required, Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days
- Experience:
- Clinical – 2 years’ ambulatory experience preferred
- Supervisory - Prior leadership/management experience preferred
- Good command of the English language, both verbal and written
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Independent decision making skills
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects
- Excellent customer service skills
- Advocate of patient safety and quality of care
- Provide leadership and support in developing and maintaining effective relationships with the center staff and the medical staff
- Establish, maintain, analyze, and evaluated standards of nursing care within the Center in compliance with professional nursing standards and recommended perioperative procedures
- Recruitment, retention, staffing, and supervision of nursing personnel
- Is available for guidance, counseling and support as needed by the nursing staff
- Holds individual employees accountable for assigned responsibilities and individual goals and performance expectations through annual performance evaluations and conferences
