The Business Office Manager provides day-to-day management of the business office staff and plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our healthcare facility. You will oversee and manage business office operations, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and maintaining the highest standards of patient care. This position offers a unique opportunity for career growth in a dynamic, patient-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the business office, ensuring efficient workflow and staff productivity
  • Manage, train, and support business office staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing, coding, and claims submission in compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Monitor accounts receivable and work with staff to resolve billing issues and denials
  • Coordinate with physicians, clinical staff, and external vendors to facilitate smooth operations
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and organizational policies related to patient financial services
  • Analyze financial reports and prepare summaries for leadership to support decision-making
  • Handle patient inquiries related to billing, insurance, and payments professionally and promptly
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and implementing cost-saving initiatives
  • Support the onboarding and training of new business office personnel
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and patient satisfaction

Required Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Solid knowledge of medical billing, coding, and revenue cycle processes
  • Proficiency with healthcare accounting and computerized financial systems (e.g., Meditech, Epic)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical skills for financial data review and reporting
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills related to billing and patient financial services
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance and patient confidentiality (HIPAA)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)


Required Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field required
  • Minimum of five years’ supervisory experience in a healthcare setting such as a hospital, surgery center, or physician’s office
  • Proven track record working in medical business office operations, including billing, coding, and revenue cycle management
  • Experience collaborating with clinical teams and third-party payers (HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medicaid)
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards and patient confidentiality (HIPAA)
