USPI was founded in 1998 with a promise to deliver high-quality, lower-cost solutions in our communities, and in doing so, form collaborations with other like-minded institutions and physicians. Today we are the largest ambulatory surgery platform in the country, with more than 350 ambulatory surgery centers and 28 surgical hospitals. We are also part of Tenet Healthcare, a unique and diversified enterprise which enables us to have access to additional resources and a greater support system. We are looking for a Surgical Scrub Technologist for our Surgery Center.

Job Summary: The Lead Scrub Technician and Materials Management Coordinator will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation of the surgical services department. This position is responsible for providing expert scrub assistance during surgeries while managing and coordinating the inventory of surgical supplies and equipment in collaboration with the Materials Manager. The Lead Scrub Technician will report directly to the Operating Room Manager and will oversee scrub technician activities, assist in training, and support materials management tasks to ensure that the operating room is well-equipped and organized for all surgical procedures.
Scrub Technician Duties:
Provide proficient scrub assistance during surgeries, including preparing sterile fields, passing instruments, and assisting the surgical team as needed.
Ensure all instruments and supplies are sterile, accounted for, and available for use during procedures.
Maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room (OR) by following strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
Assist with patient positioning, draping, and any necessary patient care during surgical procedures.
Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia providers to ensure smooth operation flow.
General Duties:
Maintain a professional and positive working relationship with all surgical team members, contributing to a collaborative, efficient, and supportive environment.
Ensure compliance with PSC/Corporate policies, regulatory standards, and safety protocols.
Assist the Operating Room Manager in developing and improving departmental processes and procedures related to surgical support and materials management.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED; completion of a Scrub Technician Program. Certification preferable.
  • Two years experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Other skills and abilities: General familiarity with medical terminology as it pertains to anatomy and surgical procedures for an operating room.
