Memorial Hermann Surgery Center, Woodlands Parkway is a premier outpatient surgical facility dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a safe and efficient environment. Our facility specializes in a wide range of surgical procedures, ensuring exceptional care for our patients.

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated OR Charge Registered Nurse to lead our surgical nursing team. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operating room activities, ensuring efficiency, patient safety, and staff coordination. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to excellence in perioperative nursing.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate OR nursing staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Maintain high standards of patient care and adherence to all surgical safety protocols.
  • Oversee OR scheduling, staffing assignments, and resource utilization.
  • Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes.
  • Support and mentor OR nurses, providing guidance on best practices and professional development.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with infection control and regulatory standards.
  • Handle any intraoperative challenges, ensuring quick and effective problem-solving.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.

Required Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of surgical nursing and OR protocols.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Required Experience:
  • Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of Texas.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of perioperative nursing experience, with leadership or charge nurse experience preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • CNOR certification preferred.
  • Experience in an outpatient surgery center or hospital OR setting is a plus.
