Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Pinecroft, located in The Woodlands, Texas, is a premier outpatient surgical facility offering high-quality care in a patient-focused environment. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-time Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient care before and after surgery, skilled at anticipating patient needs, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, efficient care to patients in both the pre-operative and post-anesthesia phases
• Conduct thorough pre-op assessments, including reviewing patient history, medications, and allergies
• Prepare patients for surgery by starting IVs, administering medications, and reinforcing pre-op instructions
• Monitor patients closely for adverse reactions or complications following surgery
• Manage airway, pain control, and vital signs until patients meet discharge criteria
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly
• Educate patients and families on pre-op expectations and post-op recovery instructions
• Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and fellow RNs to ensure seamless transitions of care
• Adhere to infection control, medication safety, and patient safety standards at all times

• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking in pre- and post-operative care
• Proficiency in patient assessment, IV initiation, and medication administration
• Airway management and monitoring of vital signs during recovery
• Pain management and comfort measures for surgical patients
• Knowledge of anesthesia recovery protocols and discharge criteria
• Effective communication with patients, families, surgeons, and anesthesia providers
• Ability to respond quickly in urgent or emergency situations
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration in a fast-paced surgical setting
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation accuracy
• Commitment to infection control and patient safety standards

• Current RN license in the state of Texas (or compact state eligibility)
• BLS and ACLS certification (PALS may be required depending on patient population)
• Minimum of 1–2 years of RN experience, with prior Pre-Op, PACU, ICU, or ED background strongly preferred
• Experience in an ambulatory surgery center or hospital surgical services setting a plus
• Hands-on experience monitoring patients through the perioperative continuum
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) for patient documentation
• Proven ability to educate patients and families on pre-op instructions and post-op recovery
