The Woodlands, Texas Memorial Hermann Surgery Center, Woodlands Parkway (11030)Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Woodlands Parkway is seeking a detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler to support our surgical services team. Our center specializes in providing high-quality outpatient surgical care with an emphasis on patient safety, efficiency, and exceptional service.
The Surgery Scheduler plays a key role in coordinating surgical cases, ensuring all required information, documentation, and preparations are completed accurately and on time. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, patients, and administrative staff.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate surgical procedures for multiple specialties.
- Collect, verify, and enter patient information including demographics, insurance, and clinical details.
- Communicate with patients regarding procedure dates, arrival times, and pre-operative instructions.
- Work closely with surgeons, clinical staff, and external offices to obtain necessary orders, clearances, and documentation.
- Ensure all required pre-operative testing and paperwork are completed before the day of surgery.
- Maintain accurate scheduling records within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Troubleshoot scheduling conflicts and resolve issues with professionalism and urgency.
- Assist with patient inquiries and provide clear, compassionate communication.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, center policies, and regulatory standards.

Required Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in surgical scheduling preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT/ICD-10 codes, and surgical procedures
- Familiarity with EHR systems and scheduling software (e.g., Cerner, Epic, SIS)
- Previous experience in a hospital, surgical center, or physician office setting preferred
