HIM Coordinator at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Trophy Club:
·Under the general direction of CFO and hospital administration, provides assistance and support to enable health information to be complete and readily available to practitioners providing health care.
·Maintain the record to ensure the following functions are completed:
·Accurately files information into the patient record to ensure continuity of patient care.
·Initiates new patient folder for all inpatients, outpatients, emergency room patients, and radiology patients.
·Responsible for ensuring records are promptly retrieved when required by Health Care Practitioners.
·Ensures records are retrieved for the outpatient surgery, prior to scheduled appointment, if requested.
·Processes patient records for physician completion.
·Analyzes patient discharge records for deficiencies and update computer software.
·Perform duties to ensure patient discharge records are received properly and assembled correctly.
·Other duties as assigned by hospital administration
Qualifications
Education:
·High school graduate or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification:
·RHIT, RHIA or other credentials preferred
Required Experience:
· One yearprevious medical records work experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
·PC skills required
·Good communication skills
·Ability to comprehend numeric filing system
·Detail oriented
·Customer service oriented
