Registered Nurse Operating Room Supervisor at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Trophy Club:

·The OR Supervisor has responsibility for supervising staff in accordance with policies, procedures, industry standards of practice, JC standards, and per direction of the Director.This individual assists in scrub and circulator roles to assist staff as needed.Accountabilities include overseeing supply and equipment requirements for cases, coordinating orientation plans for new staff, assisting in the evaluation process of staff members in the OR, managing staff timekeeping, and managing projects as assigned by the Director.

Required Skills:

Education:

·Graduate of accredited school or professional nursing.

·BSN degree preferred.

Certification:

·Current Texas RN License

·BLS current, ACLS and PALS required, must be obtained within 60 days of hire


Required Experience:

Required Experience:

·Three (3) years’ experience in surgery as circulator and scrub tech preferred.

·Two (2) years’ experience in surgery management as a service coordinator or charge position preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·Independent decision making skills.

·Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.

·Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, families and vendors.

·Knowledgeable of hospital policies and procedures specific to the operating room.

·Knowledge of TDH, Medicare and the Joint Commission rules & regulations.

·Ability to make independent sound nursing and management decisions.

·Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and plans for special age specific needs of surgical patients and their families.

·Ability to utilize Electronic Heath Care Record for patient documentation, chart audit and other reviews
