Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with the surgical team to ensure a safe and efficient surgical experience.
Responsibilities
- Assess and prepare patients for surgery and recovery.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and responses to treatments and medications.
- Provide preoperative and postoperative education to patients and families.
- Assist in maintaining sterile and safe environments in surgical suites.
- Document patient care accurately in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical staff to ensure the highest level of patient care.
- Follow all infection control, safety, and quality assurance protocols.
Required Skills:
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical setting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to patient safety and comfort.
Required Experience:
- Active RN license in the state of Texas.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Previous experience in Pre-Op, PACU, or OR preferred but not required.
