Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated RN Pre-Op/PACU to join our team on a PRN basis. This role is essential in supporting smooth surgical flow and ensuring exceptional patient care from pre-operative preparation through post-anesthesia recovery. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care in both the Pre-Op and PACU settings, ensuring continuity of care and continual evaluation of patient condition.
- Implement all physician orders while maintaining patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times.
- Assist physicians in procedure rooms as needed, including supporting conscious sedation and utilizing sterile technique when appropriate.
- Deliver comprehensive care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.
Complete accurate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patients and families in preparation for discharge.
Skills Required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and follow through on tasks
- Ability to master new skills and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Thorough understanding of the perioperative process, surgical procedures, and anesthesia considerations
- Current clinical assessment and patient care skills
- Telemetry experience required
Experience Required
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current state RN license
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Pre-Op, PACU, or ICU
