Speech/Language Pathologist at Houston Physicians Hospital
Will have responsibility for daily patient speech and language pathology treatment involving frequent phone and in person interaction with both patients and physicians. Will provide patient care as prescribed by the referring physician, including evaluation and assessment, design of treatment programs, implementation and supervision of treatment programs and educational services. Will also maintain and update patient case files.
Responsibilities:
·Participate in supervised clinical activities as deemed appropriate by the supervising Speech Pathology evaluation and treatment as ordered by prescribing physician.
·Participateintreatmentreview,progress,andongoingpatientcarereassessments.
·Educationofpatientandcaregiver(s).
·Accuratedocumentationtoensuretimelyandcorrect billing.
·Directandassistoccupationaltherapystaffas necessary.
·Provideexceptionalcustomerservicewheninteractingwithpatients, physicians and employees.
·Providenecessaryeducationalservicesandparticipatesinfacilityin-serviceactivities.
·Collaborate with other team memberstoensureasafeandcleanworking environment,includingphysicalplant, equipmentmaintenanceand supply inventory levels.
·Assumeanyotherresponsibilitiesthatmaybeassignedbythe department manager.
Qualifications:
·StateSpeech and Language Pathologylicensurerequired.
·MustbeagraduateofanaccreditedSpeech Pathologycurriculum
·CurrentBLS Certification.
·Stronginterpersonalskillsandabilitytocommunicateinafriendlyandprofessionalmannerwith both patients and physicians.
·Musthavestrongorganizationalskillsandtheabilitytoaccuratelydocumentinformationfor billing purposes.
·ExperiencewithWord,Excel,andElectronicMedicalRecordDocumentation.
