Certified Sterile Processing Tech at Surgical Institute of Reading

Job Summary: The Certified Sterile Processing Technician maintains and cares for all surgical instruments. Prepares supplies and instruments for surgery cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Ensure proper setup of operating room instrument trays.
  • Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, including steam/gravity sterilizers.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to sterilization processes.
  • Support surgical teams by ensuring timely availability of sterile supplies.

Work Schedule: 8:30AM - 5:00PM 

Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician
  • 2-3 years of experience as an Instrument Room Technician in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center setting.
  • Strong knowledge of operating room instrumentation and sterilization techniques
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized in setting up surgical trays
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items
