Responsibilities
The Surgical Institute of Reading (SIR), an affiliate of United Surgical Partners International (USPI), offers a high quality, service-oriented environment of care for surgical patients. SIR ranks in the top 100 hospitals for total joint replacement for five years and for spine surgery for the last two years. Our state-of-the art facility has four operating rooms and one procedure room, allowing surgeons to perform procedures in the specialty areas of: Anesthesia, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Orthopedic Foot & Ankle, Pain Management, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, General and Spinal Surgery.
Surgical Institute of Reading is looking for a top-performer with solid knowledge of PSU Recovery Patient Care Aide. Thís is a fast-paced environment that is driven to reach the highest quality and satisfaction outcomes in Pennsylvania. The Patient Care Aide will assist patients with activities of daily living and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Monday - Friday with weekend flexibility. Hours are 3PM - 11:30PM
Required Skills:
Position required skills for the Patient Care Aide include:
- High school student or graduate or equivalent
- Previous clinical hospital experience preferred
- Current certification in CPR, preferred
- Customer Service/Relationship/Communication

Required Experience:
Position qualifications and requirements for the Patient Care Aide include:
- One year experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified is preferred
- Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories
- Patient Interviewing skills
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
- Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
- Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
- Possess the ability to follow established cleaning methods in performing daily tasks
- Must be able to keep all equipment in good working condition
