SIR ranked in the top 100 hospitals for total joint replacement for five years and for spine surgery for the last two years. Our state-of-the-art facility has five operating rooms and one procedure room, allowing surgeons to perform procedures in the specialty areas of:
Anesthesia, Gynecology, Orthopedic, Orthopedic Foot & Ankle, Pain Management, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, General, and Spinal Surgery.
No on-call or holiday hours required.

Job Summary:
The Surgical Technician anticipates the needs of the surgical team and establishes and maintains a sterile field during procedures in the operating room.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure sterility of all supplies and instruments during set-up of surgical procedures.
Assist circulating nurse and surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment.
Gather necessary surgical supplies and equipment.
Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts pre-operatively and intra-operatively with the circulating nurse.
Gown and glove surgeons and assistants.
Keep physician preference cards accurate and updated.
Retain all specimens for pathology, confirming source and name with the surgeon.
Transport surgical equipment to cleaning areas and assist with instrument reprocessing.
Interact professionally and effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare team members.
Follow Standard Universal Precautions, infection control protocols, and safety guidelines.
Serve as a resource to other members of the healthcare team.
Maintain required certifications such as CPR.
Act in accordance with the vision, mission, and business philosophy of the Center.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program (required)
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) (preferred)
1+ years of experience in an operating room setting (preferred)
Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and instrumentation
Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing surgical needs
